The Essar – Harmony Rangoli competition at Essar Mumbai on 7 November 2007 was based on the theme of Globalisation. The single most important thought that emerged from all the rangoli designs was that Essar is emerging as a major global brand. The thematic displays and the thought and effort that had gone into producing the various designs were a credit to the creativity and enthusiasm that are Essarite hallmarks. The five-member team of the eighth Floor bagged the first prize. Their Rangoli design scored the highest in terms of presentation, theme focus, creativity and the use of colors and materials.

Adding more flavour to the celebrations was the “Best Traditionally Dressed – Male” and “Best Traditionally Dressed – Female” competition. The participants dressed with a great sense of cultural pride in making a fashion statement so to say. The winners of this competition were Mr. Balasubramanian, Essar Construction Ltd. dressed in a South Indian ‘Veshti and Angavasthram’, Ms Chitra Shirodkar, Futura Travel Ltd. dressed in Maharashtrian Nav vari saree, Ms Amita Kothari - dressed in Marwari attire and Mr Manvir Singh Chandok – Essar Power Ltd dressed in traditional Sikh attire.

The judges visited all the floors to choose the winners of the competitions. The winners supported by the enthusiasts were felicitated in a gathering at the cafeteria. . The fun did not just end with the competitions .The revelry continued late into the evening as the various teams visited each other’s floors for a dekko of the creative Rangolis on display.
